Carla's Home

Meet Carla, last year she was the recipient of a free ID consultation, and the timing was perfect, as she was pondering a renovation. Carla is a snazzy and stylish homeowner wishing to create her dream kitchen and dining area. As a former chef and restaurant owner, her needs include a large prep space and ease of connection to the dining area. Maintaining the character and charm of her home, but with more efficiency and organization - all while considering her vibrant vintage and modern aesthetic.

Carla and I soon realized we were kindred spirits, showing up at appointments with almost the exact outfit on, time after time. I got her. I understood clearly where we were heading, and this was going to be exciting!

In short, I took on the Design and Project Management, and the team I worked with was divine. We removed one wall, then added interest with a floral Thibault wallpaper from Design District Access; the cabinets were through Ikea; paint was Benjamin Moore; and the glorious/breathtaking backsplash was from Decoratile and Sanomatilemakers.

We reused her vintage dining light fixture and had my electrician rewire it into three separate lights to be spaced out in the kitchen zone.

In the end, we created a more sophisticated take on what she already loved.
