Suddenly Silver

Like a lightning bolt, silver is rapidly taking over the metal game. Trends are fluid and ever changing, and when they arrive back on the scene, they represent in a different way. This time around, I see a Brutalist movement coming, which I couldn’t be more thrilled about. Concrete floors, perhaps with silver glitter sprinkled in? Brutalism-think post war 1950’s bare bones. The movement is often considered ugly, though not by me; it’s a definite favourite! Antiqued mirror tiled walls, silver bird sculptures, 70’s glam coffee tables are H-O-T! A few of my silver loves are in the shared images. They represent a glamorous, brutalist feel, the ‘Chasing Sunset’ earrings by Emma Glover Design; the delicate, ethereal Strada Wall Sconce by Kelly Wearstler; or the Cascade Platinum Matte wall paper of bursting florals and foliage by Cole & Son. If you’ve gone with gold and black hardware over the past 10 years, no worry, and please don’t replace it; you can work with it. Trends change quickly. Buy what you love and keep it for its lifetime. Weaving in new trends creates interest.
