Artist Influence - Tyrrell Clarke
Tyrrell’s art caught my eye, while on a getaway to Gabriola Island; at a small gallery in the village. The colours were bold, the shapes dramatic. She became an artist I closely watched; waiting for the right one to come my way, which fortunately happened this past summer. It’s a piece with a softer palette and a powerful presence, more in tune with my aesthetic; called THE SEER (last image). My lady art popped up at Tyrrell’s studio well over a year ago, I visited her twice and thought of her often. Then, while sitting in a hospital at my mom’s bedside for several days; I had a life’s too short moment, and made the purchase. Tyrell was thrilled and said she would bring good fortune.
An excerpt from Tyrrell’s website; “In her newest work, Tyrrell visits her core passion of figurative painting. Evocative women in a dreamlike setting are completely at one with their surroundings…a part of nature that envelopes them.”
